I know I promised I would get the sewing machine caddy out quicker than this but this is my busy season at my “real job” and unfortunately that has to come before sewing – no fun right? Anyhow – its here now under Tutorials. I even broke down when writing this tutorial and made one for myself…hope you all will do the same.
The adorable sewing bird is a new set from Loralie called Sew Florida and the dress form fabric is hers too but its from many years ago and is probably out of production.
Best Cutting Table – EVER!

I know that every little girl thinks their Dad is the best and can do anything but……..I saw a similar cutting table at a local quilt shop for $3500 (and knew I could never afford that). He took one look at it and said he could make me one. What he made me is FAR BETTER than any cutting table I have ever seen – it is so beautiful and so well thought out and built. The inside storage drawers and bins are amazing and just what I need to keep my cutting table clean while working on multiple projects. The pictures really don’t do it justice. You outdid yourself Dad – I will cherish this FOREVER! Thank you!!

Ribbon Organizer

I am not a fanatic but I like to keep a clean house. I like to decorate and make my house look pretty as much as the next person. So why in the world is my favorite room of the house (sewing room of course) such a mess? All of the other rooms are neat, tidy and decorated and this room looks like a tornado hit it. It is time to change all of that! My new year’s resolution (starting early) is to make my sewing room as pretty as the rest of the house. To get it to where I don’t have to apologize or make an excuse for it being such a mess when someone comes over.
My first step is to organize my ribbons. To say I have “some ribbon” is an understatement for SURE. I think I might have an addiction problem :>)) I have tried every ribbon organizer/holder out there and couldn’t keep track of what I had or keep them untangled or from falling off the spool. I saw an organizer that is similar to mine posted on a website in pinterest and I asked my friend, Armando to make one like that for me. He did a fantastic job – it is exactly what I wanted. It even has a yard stick at the bottom and magnets to hold a pair of scissors. Thanks Armando!
I will keep updating you with organizing ideas as I conquer this messy room. One day I might even take a picture of the whole room to share…..of course that will be after it is all neat and organized – LOL

This is a diaper bag that I made for my friend Diane. I knew I had to use these adorable jungle embroidery designs when I found the matching fabric at Thomas Sewing Center.
I added a zippered pocket on the inside so she could carry her cell phone, keys and wallet without them getting lost at the bottom of the bag.

I know it is still WAY too HOT to think about halloween here in Texas, but wanted to share a freebie with you now for those who are trying to get a head start on their halloween crafts. Now, I don’t profess to be a digitizer so keep that in mind, but this is a cute project idea for teachers and friends who need a “little something” for halloween that doesn’t involve calories :>)) It holds a regular size post it note pad. The files are on the side in the box widget and they are in jef and pes format only. Complete instructions are under my tutorial section.

Here are some pictures of a few new projects I have been working on. The Loralie cat purse is from Ellen Medlock’s pattern, The Cheri Bag, like the Ladybug Purse I made last month. This is the largest size in the pattern and is perfect to carry all your goodies in. The next one is a bowling bag style purse. It is my own pattern and showcases Loralie’s bowling girl design.

Ladybug Petite Purse

I have been a busy bee these days sewing some of the new patterns I purchased at Martha Pullen. This adorable bag is from Ellen Medlock…..it is her Cheri Bag in the petite size. It was a super easy pattern and went together like a breeze. I added the lady bug embroidery from Sew Swell.
